My Story

hey There, I’m Lisa!

If you’ve landed here, you’re probably someone who loves good food, honest conversations, and finding inspiration in everyday life, you’re in the right place.

What started back in 2016 as The Tasting Plate, a space to share my favourite recipes, has now evolved into Lisa Forrest | All Things Life. It’s now a place where food meets real talk, simple joys, and stories that remind us we’re all just figuring it out as we go.

My goal’s simple, to share something here that adds a little extra to your every day.

Whether that’s:

  • a recipe you’ll come back to time and time again,

  • a kitchen hack that makes your week easier,

  • an audio or post that speaks to what you’re going through,

  • or just a reminder that you’re not alone on your journey.

My own story hasn’t been a straight path,  it’s been shaped by resilience, motherhood, and some life-altering experiences. At 27, while pregnant with our first child, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and years later learned I carried the hereditary BCNA2 gene mutation. Those discoveries led to major surgeries, an emotional IVF journey, and exploring surrogacy. They also led me here, to a life built on gratitude, courage, and connection.

I share these parts of my story not for sympathy, but to show that no matter what you’re facing, there’s always a way forward, and often, a bit of light on the other side.

These days, I live in Kingsford, Sydney, with my partner Charlton and our daughter, Eadie Piper. I work as a Venues Supervisor for Randwick City Council, where I get to blend structure with creativity, surrounded by the beauty of Little Bay and an incredible team. Life’s busy, but it’s a beautiful kind of chaos.. I say yes to what brings joy and no, thank you to what doesn’t.

So whether you’re here for food inspo, lifestyle ideas, or just to connect, welcome.
I’d love for you to subscribe to my newsletter (I promise not to spam your inbox!) and follow along on Instagram for more snippets of everyday life, food, and everything in between.

With love & gratitude,
Lisa x

A note from me:

This little corner of the internet runs on time, energy and more than a few cups of coffee! I’ve shared my favourite finds, honest reviews and practical little life tips for years simply because I love doing it, with zero expectations. So many of you often ask, how you can support the work (and the coffees!) that go into it. So I’ve added a gentle “shout me a virtual coffee” option -  not as a sales pitch, just a simple way to support if you ever feel called to. There’s absolutely no pressure, but if you do feel like shouting me a coffee, I won’t say no. 🤍 ☕️🤍

Shout me a (virtual) coffee!
At 20 weeks pregnant, Lisa received the devastating news that she had a cancerous tumour on her cervix. Lisa and her partner were faced with an overwhelming decision; terminate the pregnancy and have the tumour removed, or undergo chemotherapy at the risk of the treatment not responding.
