My Story

TTP About Me.JPG

hey, It’s me Lisa!

As a lover of food, my journey into sharing recipes started back in 2016. It began with The Tasting Plate, a way for me to share the dishes I loved. Over time, my passion grew beyond food to include all aspects of life. This is when Lisa Forrest "All Things Life" came to be, where I cover everything from food to life lessons ( much to my daughters annoyance- haha). I believe sharing my knowledge and experiences can empower others to create lasting change and embrace their best life.

My outlook on life has been shaped by some significant challenges. At just 27, while expecting our first child, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Soon after, I learned I carried the hereditary BCNA 2 gene mutation, which led me to make the difficult decision to undergo a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy and soon, an oophorectomy. In the years following, we embarked on an unsuccessful IVF journey and even explored surrogacy options. These experiences were incredibly tough, but they shaped me into the person I am today. Now, I share my journey to offer hope, support, and encouragement for others who may be facing their own trials.

My ultimate goal is to connect and inspire you in some way. I hope you can take something meaningful from my website—a recipe you've been curious about, a kitchen hack that saves you time, an audio that resonates with where you are in life, or even just a smile from something you’ve read.

A little more about me… I live in Kingsford, Sydney with my amazing partner Charlton and our beautiful daughter Eadie Piper. My pregnancy in 2011 was a blessing that completely transformed our lives. If you'd like to hear more about our journey, click here and here for a quick video on my story.

Whenever I’m passionate about something, I love to share it with enthusiasm! After spending 12 years in aviation, I now thrive in my current role as Venues Administration Assistant at Randwick City Council. My day-to-day is more structured these days, but I’m surrounded by the beauty of Little Bay and a very supportive team, who all keep me motivated. My diary ( officially digital) is full, but that's exactly how I like it! Saying yes to all the things that bring me joy, and a polite no thank you to the things that don’t.

So, that’s a snapshot of life! I'd love for you to subscribe to my newsletters, see below (don’t worry, I won’t overload your inbox!) and follow me on Instagram for glimpses into my world. And remember, I’m always here to connect, so feel free to reach out anytime.

With love & gratitude,
Lisa x

At 20 weeks pregnant, Lisa received the devastating news that she had a cancerous tumour on her cervix. Lisa and her partner were faced with an overwhelming decision; terminate the pregnancy and have the tumour removed, or undergo chemotherapy at the risk of the treatment not responding.
