Where Reflection Meets Presence

A big hello.

As life feels like it's all moving so quickly, I’ve been reminding myself lately, to pause and reflect on the month that has just passed. Taking just a few moments gives me such gratitude and reminds myself as to what really matters.

One intention I am really trying to focus on is presence. Choosing to stay with what’s here, rather than rushing ahead to what’s next. Reflection doesn’t need to happen at the end of every year, it’s a gentle practice we can return to again and again.

Instead of defaulting to my usual “what’s next?” mindset, I’ve been reminding myself to stay right where I am. Noticing, enjoying, and soaking it all in.

When I look back at last month, there were plenty of moments that made me smile.

There were catch-ups with different friendship circles, cup filling in so many different ways. I launched my guided journal, A Place to Pause, which felt incredibly meaningful after months of intention and heart behind it.

Our household also gained an at-home barista! Thanks to Eadie and her school holiday coffee course with her girlfriends, our daily coffees have reached a whole new level (game changer).

January also threw us an impromptu South Coast getaway with friends. I’m usually a planner, so this last minute booking made it tens times better. We also signed up as a family for the Starlight Super Swim Challenge, go Lane Legends!

At home, we made a few simple bedroom and loungeroom upgrades, and it reminded me how even small changes can completely shift the energy of a space. I’ve also been trying to experiment with a couple of Ninja Creami ice-cream recipes, be sure to keep an eye on my Instagram highlights for those.

Add in car-boot dinners, bottomless brunches, and more fun moments than I can possibly list, last month felt full, but in the best way. Everything we did, we genuinely wanted to do. I have a personal rule I try to live by: always say yes to the things that excite you and you actually want to do, and a polite “no thank you” is equally fine to the things that you may not have the capacity or energy for in your life right now.

One of my favourite days was playing tourist in our own city, a ferry ride to Manly and a sunrise kayaking in Sydney Harbour to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Proof that these experiences doesn’t always require a plane ticket.

So here’s a challenge for you. Scroll back through last month's camera roll on your phone and notice what made you smile the most. Let me know some of your highlights in the comments below, I’de love to hear.

Here’s to a fabulous Month ahead!

Yours in good health,
