Bali Baby!
What an amazing opportunity we got! One whole week in Bali. A time to reflect, relax, be present and a chance to work on ourselves. Mentally, Physically, Emotionally, Spiritually. Mind blowing in more ways than one! For those of you who followed on through my personal instagram account, you guessed it, we basically ate our way around Bali. We were there for so many other reasons, but food was certainly a HIGH priority!
Below I have broken down our day, just to give you an insight. This was a retreat that we created ourselves, inspired by others that we had looked into but wanted the flexibility for what worked for us. This is a rough guideline that I hope you enjoy.
6am-8am
In Villa- Saudara Villas Seminyak
This was our time to wake up, and set our intentions for the day.
And can I just say, NO alarms, we peacefully woke up naturally each day to the sound of the birds chirping, sooo relaxing!! I’ve even changed my alarm now to wake me up to birds chirping everyday!
Starting with our:
Oil pulling, whilst setting up yoga mats etc, 5 mins
Morning Meditation, 10 mins (+ teeth whitening) + Chakra Spray
Shakti Mats, (acupressure) 10 mins whilst meditating
Oracle Cards, 10-15mins
Scribing, Super Greens + Collagen Powder 10-15 mins
Reflecting on what our Oracle Cards each read with each other 10 -15 mins
Yoga with the amazing Merrymaker Sisters Carla & Emma with their amazing online Studio MerryBod, ( my Mat was kindly gifted to me by the amazing Jody @ Baransu Yoga, Wollongong), 25 mins
The BOD Booty Bands exercise 10 mins
Quick Cleanse in the Villa Pool
We were generally sipping our morning coffee by 8:30am, followed by breakfast at many of the hotspots I’ve attached below.
Breakfast
Sisterfields- Great for any meal of the day
Revolver coffee- we never ate here, but found ourselves here for our morning piccolo and occasional iced lattes
Sea Circus- we did coffee, but great for Brunch
Kim Soo- Great coffee and attached to the most amazing homewares store
Coffee Cartel- AMAZING and probably another Fav! You can even get your coffee personalised here with your own image on top.
Milk & Madu- (which means milk & honey), Canggu Day Trip
10-12pm
We always had some sort of morning or midday activity planned for after breakfast, as well as a lot of walking! This included:
Jimmy Doyle- Spiritual Healer
Prana Day Spa- (Pampering) I had the Shirodhara. Beginning with a head, scalp, neck and shoulder massage. Meditative bliss will occur as a slow pouring of medicinal oils cascade over your sixth chakra, stimulating your third eye and window to the soul. It’s recommended for headaches and insomnia, not that I suffer from these, but I have never experienced a treatment anything like it!
Day trip to Canggu- Driver required
Local massages- all amazing for around $7/hr
Blowdrys- Great for the experience, but considering the humidity in Bali, probably wouldn’t recommend other then on route home to the Airport :-)
Villa Down Time- Growth work on ourselves
12-300pm was generally lunch and making our way back to our Villa for some pool/down time.
Lunch
Fat Chow- Fusion Vietnamese
Kynd- Vegan/Vegetarian. Such a stunning venue and attached is their Ice creamery.
Nostimo- Greek, amazing Gyros!
Nook- also attached to Nalu Bowls and a gorgeous Homewares, you will need a cab here unless you walk like we did, lots to see along the way :-)
Bo & Bun- ANOTHER fav! Highly recommend the The Tasting Plate, here you can try little bit of everything
3-5pm
Was time to chill. Time on ourselves. Books we have been wanting to read, and also our own plans and goals that we had touched base on earlier in the year. So great to have that accountability partner to keep you on track! (Find that person!)
Oh and not to mention a cheeky poolside Frangelico + Lime on ice to get the evening started!
5-9pm
Once again we were out and about to get through all our food recommendations! Haha.
Walking out and about, finding dinner and evening massages, what a way to end the day!
Dinner
Ginger Moon- Fusion Asian, one of my Fav!
Ultimo- Italian, another Fav!
Motel Mexicola- Mexican, food was great, but it s LOUD! If you can snap up a seat out front, you’re in for the win!
Ling Lings- Fusion Japanese, Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, says it all!
W bar- Unreal for Sunset Cocktails
Our nights were reasonably early, as were our mornings. For myself, just getting a complete un interrupted 8hours sleep every night was such an amazing feeling!
All of these little extra luxuries make me feel amazing, Selfcare is sooo important, and we often forget about ourselves. More Yes to us, and sorry, but more No to others! I implement all of these rituals into my everyday life as well, but doing it in Bali with no distractions truly made in 10 times more amazing!
All of these places were recommended to me from friends and colleagues and I couldn’t fault any!
So that my friends is Bali in a nutshell, if you have questions or would possibly be keen to join us next year for another Retreat be sure to get in touch!
Keep smiling!
